Presentation Types
Oral Presentation: For those authors invited to present an oral presentation, the duration of your presentation will be confirmed in your Notification of Abstract Result Letter.
For all oral presentations the following equipment will be available in each session room for use by speakers:
- Data projector
- Laptop (PC compatible) and internet connection
- Laser pointer
- Lectern and fixed microphone.
Poster Presentation: For those authors invited to present a poster presentation, please note that there are two Adult Medicine Division Prizes for a Fellow and a Trainee valued at $500 each.
Judging will take place on Monday 27 May 2013 during the afternoon tea break. All poster presenters are asked to be beside their posters promptly at 3.30pm. Six finalists will be invited to give a two minute presentation to the judging panel. The winners will be contacted by mobile phone and prizes announced at the Congress Gala Dinner on Tuesday 28 May 2013.
The poster display will be an integral part of the Congress program and will be displayed in the exhibition area.

Education Awards/Prizes
Wiley-Blackwell Publishing Award for Excellence in Medical Education
Fellows and trainees are encouraged to submit an abstract on medical education research they have undertaken in the field of physician education. Examples may include methods of integrating formative assessment into the workflow, novel teaching and assessment techniques, the use of technology in teaching and learning, trainee or Fellow experiences in the continuum of physician education.
Four abstracts will be selected and presented during this session. The winning researcher will receive a certificate and monetary award of $1500, and will be featured in RACP News.

Publication of Abstracts
All abstracts accepted for oral and poster presentations will be included in the Internal Medicine Journal (IMJ) which is published by Wiley-Blackwell Publishing.
Notification of Abstract Results
Authors will be notified of their abstract results by 11 March 2013. All correspondence relating to the submission will be directed to the primary contact person and they should in turn distribute to any/all co-presenters.
Speaker Registration
The invitation to make an oral or poster presentation does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the Congress. Some awards and prizes may offer travel, accommodation and registration entitlements to presenters.

All speakers must register and pay the appropriate registration fee for the Congress by 27 March 2013 to have their abstracts included in the IMJ Abstract Supplement (Congress Abstract Book).
